Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, James Tiernan graduated from Boston Latin High School in 1987 and went to Norwich University in Northfield Vermont. In 1991, he graduated with honors, earning a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, and a commission in the United States Navy.
On 22 April 2011, Lieutenant Commander James Tiernan retired from naval surface in a ceremony on board the USS MISSOURI (BB-63), moored on historic Fort Island, in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
James and his wife Laura returned to Lake County to be close to family and friends. After a long successful naval career, James decided to leverage his experience as a real estate investor and become a real estate broker, joining the team at RE/MAX Center in Grayslake as a Military Relocation Specialist.
After 7 years as top Lake County realtor, James has grown a successful business and helped many families. He continues to grow a team of professionals to expand his reach and help more families.
